This article introduces the basics of promotions, including the available types and common settings.

##### **Promotion Types**

You can access the promotions page by navigating to **Menu > Promotions**. From there, you can click the `+` button to create a new one. When you create a promotion, you can choose from a list of templates or start from scratch.

##### **Common Promotion Settings**

When creating any type of promotion, the following settings apply. Specific settings for each promotion type will be covered in separate articles.

- **Name:** The name of the promotion, visible to your customers.
- **Enabled:** Toggles the promotion on or off.
- **From and To:** Sets the start and end dates for the promotion's active period.
- **Promo Type:** The type of promotion you are creating.
- **Promo Message:** When enabled, this message will be shown to users. You can set a title, body text, and an image. This message will appear in the web catalog instead of the WhatsApp flow if you are using one.
- **Advanced Settings:** This section contains three self-explanatory toggles for advanced configurations.

It's important to understand the difference between a promotion and a product's sale price.

- A **promotion** is a broader campaign that can apply to a group of products or an entire order.
- A **[sale price](https://cloud.orderlemon.com/knowledge_base/view/50-sale-price)** is a setting specific to an individual product, allowing you to set a reduced price for a defined period.
